If you're sending RepCard links via text and your recipient is using an iPhone, you might notice that:
🔗 The link isn’t clickable until the user replies to the message.
This is due to how Apple's iMessage handles messages from unknown senders.
🧠Here’s What’s Happening
When an iPhone receives a text from a number not saved in their contacts, Apple:
- Flags it as coming from an "unknown sender"
- May disable link previews and clickable links
- This is a built-in security feature to help prevent spam or phishing
Once the recipient replies to the message:
- The conversation becomes "active"
- Links in the thread usually become clickable
- The contact may also be marked as trusted automatically
✅ How to Improve Link Deliverability
- Ask the recipient to reply with a simple message like "Got it" or "Thanks"
- Suggest they add your number to their contacts
- Use your RepCard name and intro in the first message to build trust
